I have totally been lacking on the blog website... my apologizes! :)
This summer has been filled with many new adventures already. Upon our arrival, we had about 2 1/2 weeks to arrange and host Model City Missions. It was an exciting week with 5 different groups from Texas, Georgia, and Alabama in attendance. Shortly after the end of Model City Missions, Christopher's grandfather came and stayed a week with us. It was an amazing time of fellowship. During his stay, we (Us, Pa, Jordann Ray (Chris' Cousin), Chris Ray, Chloe Ray, Kyndall Ray) all went to Atlanta to the Coke Factory and then went to a Raw Food restaurant. The whole trip was full of fun and laughter!
As many of you already know, July 3rd marked the 1 year anniversary of my father's passing. I had told Chris several times that I really wanted to go to a Braves game... something that my dad and I had talked about doing. Well, SURPRISE, for a little vacation, Chris purchased tickets to a Braves game for July 3rd. Now, there are two sad parts to this... #1 it was CRAZY Hot outside... even with the 10 minute rain that happened and #2 the Braves lost... but oh well... I had a great time!
Happy 4th of July!
Chris and I are pumped for the end of July to come because my mother and little brother, Jesse, will be here for a week! God continues to bless us over and over! I have no idea what we will be doing while they are here but I am so excited that I will get to spend this time with them. I am very intrigued to here my little brother describe his airplane experience! :)
In August, we will make our way out to Gulf Shores for another little mini vacation hosted by Christopher's grandfather for a family reunion. We love the beach so much and we also love family fellowship!
Well, besides these exciting events, we are busy with different kinds of devos with the youth and making several Skype conversations with friends all over the place. We love of our new church family here and we are blessed by God to have been brought to this place.
Hopefully in a few weeks I will updated and do a better job of keeping you informed. Wednesday, I plan to upload a few pictures so be waiting eagerly!
We Love You,
Christopher & Katrisha

New Home!
We officially made it to Anniston on Friday night! It was very exciting to see so many turn out to help us unload the truck into our new home. The trip was mostly uneventful except for a few almost accidents. There were several drivers who were texting and driving and almost hit us... that was scary and very frustrating. Saturday, we learned a very important lesson that AL is not laid out like Lubbock and not as easy to get around when you are new... with that said, we spent two (yes, 2...) hours driving around trying to figure out where to drop off our rental truck. Not Fun! After Saturday, everything seemed to become calm again. We now are faced with the joy of unpacking and figuring out where we would like everything to go. Sunday, we went to a benefit concert to support and raise money for the tornado victims. The youth that were able to attend had a great time and it was awesome to already be forming wonderful relationships with them. So far we have painted Christopher's office and arranged it to his liking. Hopefully by the end of the weekend the house will be set up because we are eager to fully engage in youth activities. Please continue to pray for me as a look for a counseling job. Things seem rather crazy and scattered but God is faithful to His promises and I know He has big and awesome plans for us.
Love each of you!
Love each of you!

Long Trip...
Tomorrow, our long trip to Anniston begins. We are very excited for this adventure in which God is our pilot. As we share our last few hours with friends, family, church family; I am constantly thinking about all the memories from this place over the last 4 years. It has been full of many ups and downs that have grown and matured us in several ways. I think about the work we are about to begin and how God has been building and preparing us for this very moment. Today, a good friend brought me a blanket... it is a blanket made out of my father's shirts; I cried with the joy to have this gift before we leave. It is interesting to be closing one chapter and waiting as God is opening and leading us down a whole new chapter. We do not know what is in front of us. We do not know what challenges or areas of growth that God will be working on but we submit to Him and His powerful hand to move us where He knows we need to be.
Please pray for us we make this transition to AL starting tomorrow. Please pray for the areas that are threatened with flooding that we will be driving through to keep us safe.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Beginning
Welcome to our blog site! We have decided to create this blog to better keep everyone informed of what we are involved in. Life is so crazy and we pray that this is a place to voice what God is doing in our lives, our struggles, thoughts, prayers, and anything else. We invite you into our lives and our goal is to keep this updated with pictures and life events at least once a week. For this week... I will slowly be adding a few pictures and working out the rest of the details of how to manage this blog in order to keep everyone entertained!
Scripture for the week:
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other."
~ John 15:15-17
